The TeamThe Team

Oscar Jones: on site at a timber frame home raising

Oscar Jones: He sleeps a good part of the day, never worries, and has been wearing the same tuxedo for 4 years, but he's still our top salesman and PR guy.  We doubt you'll be able to resist him anymore than we are.  Watch your lap, he thinks it's his!

Adrian Jones: Adrian brings nineteen years of building experience and an accute attention to detail to every project.  Adrian is a licensed general contractor and oversees design, field and shop operations. Having attended or helped instruct multiple Guild workshops and events, Adrian is now a member of the Board of Directors for the Timberframers Guild.  Dedicated to building great relationships, Adrian considers the friendship of past clients as one of his most relevant successes.

Chris Kates: timber framing craftsman

Chris Kates : Yep, the smile is really that big.  Chris has a degree in construction management from Southern Illinois, a tireless work ethic, and a wingspan of about 32 feet.  We think.  After graduating in Construction Management from Southern Illinois University in 2001, he attended one of the few timberframe apprenticeship programs in the country, and has been building timberframes ever since.

Ethan Orion : Ethan is a skilled joiner and carpenter with over a decade of experience in the building industry, most of it dedicated to timberframing.  His experience is coupled with a passion for economy of motion and building systems. He achieves high standards of productivity while maintaining exceptional quality.  While not at work Ethan is a dedicated father to his daughter Wrenna, the gem of his life. He finds moments to practice yoga in search of balance and plays on the rocks and high peaks in pursuit of adventure.

Steve Meyer: timber frame craftsmen

Steve Meyer: Calling him the shop DJ would be true, but not quite fair to his whole skill set.  After following the Dead, I mean going to college at CSU, Steve spent 18 years in Steamboat Springs building log and timber structures, and has been at the craft for 22 years total.  When he arrived in Fort Collins last year we found out how much stuff he knew about.  He’s good at almost anything to do with chainsaws, heavy equipment, sawmills, or bubble scribes.  He’s a coach to the CSU Timber Sports team, father to two really bright kids, and a general pleasure to have around.

Chris Drake : Chris's love for building lead him to study civil engineering and construction management at Colorado State as well as structural engineering as a grad student at the University of Minnesota. After graduating with a masters degree he worked for a year building log homes before moving to Denver, where he earned his Professional Engineering License. Chris has taken timbeframing courses at Rocky Mountain Workshops and has completed the Heartwood Apprenticeship. In January of 2011, Chris was accepted into the Timber Framers Guild Apprenticeship Program. Spending time with his wife is Chris's priority while not at work.

Dave Kaplan: timber frame craftsman

Dave Kaplan : After a seven month hiatus in Central America visiting ancient ruins, Dave joined the Frameworks Timber team in June 2010 as an architectural designer and joiner/carpenter. He has a B.A. in Architectural Studies from the University of Washington where he developed a passion for sustainable building practices. He is an active member of the Timberframers Guild and was an instructor for the Silver Park Project in 2008. Wheter in the office, in the shop, or on site, his eye for detail and experience with the design/build process are assets we value here at Frameworks Timber.

Curtis Milton: As a guru of complex roof math, rigging, and project management, we’ll take as many weeks of help from Curtis as we can get. We’ve stopped expecting to be able to keep up.

Isaac McCoy Sulentic: timber frame craftsman

Isaac McCoy Sulentic: A dual degree in math and physics from Macalester college followed by a summer of timber frame apprenticeship at Heartwood School   in 2005 has landed Isaac firmly in the timberframe world. Isaac has been an instructor on half of the six Guild projects he's attended, and has used those experiences to make rapid growth in the industry.  Besides his timberframe skills, his additional experience in homebuilding remains a welcome contribution to our shop.

Bruno Sutter : French by birth, Bruno is as well trained a carpener as we've ever met. His 12 years of training as a French companon is the equivelant of a doctorate in carpentry. Bruno's our go to source for complex roof math and offers a refreshing perspective on trades education and their resulting discipline. Given how smart and good looking he is, we remain undeniably impressed by just how nice a guy he is.
